The Pokédex is a key component of every trainer's Pokémon journey, being one of the first items obtained in the game and central to the series' "gotta catch them all" core gameplay philosophy. This has of course led to a proliferation of Pokédex entries, and some have gotten weirder over the years.

The 10 weirdest Pokédex entries of all time, ranked! !
The scariest Pokédex, like Drifblim kidnapping children or Drampa burning down houses. These Pokédexes leave players wondering, "Wait, why are these Pokémon released?" and confusing them. Some Pokédexes are simply baffling and difficult to understand.

       10.Pokémon Pokémon Lickitung

         "Pokémon: Ultra Moon"

Pokémon Pokémon Lickitung

The idea that this Pokémon is described only for cleaning things is hilarious.

One of the strongest Pokémon of Toedscruel.

6.Barbaracle's Body Is Weirder Than You Think

Pokémon Y

pokemon Barbaracle's Body

Many Pokémon are made up of multiple previously evolved individuals, but the appearance of Barbaracle in Pokémon Y raises new questions. First, its evolution is different from other Pokémon. Barbaracle's legs and hands have their own consciousness and can move independently. They obey the orders of the head.

If all the different limbs have their own consciousness, then are other Pokémon that are made up of multiple smaller forms the same?

5. Guzzlord doesn't poop.

Pokémon: Moon Contract

The Ultra Beasts' designs are weird and off-putting compared to other Pokémon, as they are alien creatures from different dimensions that are different in many ways. However, sometimes their weirdest aspects are their more understandable physiological structures, such as in the case of the Glutton.

This is a dangerous Ultra Beast that seems to be constantly eating, but somehow its feces has never been found.

Why is the most important information here that the Glutton doesn't poop? Why do trainers need to know this? Why bring it up?

4.Dhelmise has some theological meaning

Pokémon: Moon Contract

Ghosts are real in Pokémon, and they aren't limited to ghost-type Pokémon. The souls of the dead have been around since the original game. This naturally raises a lot of questions about the nature of souls and what happens after death, before becoming a Pokémon. Pokémon Moon skips all of those questions with Dhelmise's Pokedex entry.

This Pokémon is reborn as a seaweed soul floating in the waves. It sustains itself by injecting new seafloor detritus and seaweed.

In the Pokémon world, does seaweed have souls? Do all plants have souls? Or is it just seaweed? If so, do all types of seaweed have souls?

3.Dreepy

Dreepy

Pokedex entries can hint at a lot of things, and it's especially interesting when they hint at the existence of a completely different Pokémon, like the entry for Doronesia.
It has a habit of biting Clauncher even if it does not feed on the Pistol Shrimp.

2. Beheeyem's behavior is extremely strange

Pokémon Sword's Dex

Beheeyem's behavior is extremely strange

There are a lot of strange Pokédex entries for Bigotry, including some slightly arcane ones, like one about editing memories, and some that hint at the existence of aliens. But the weirdest, and the one that makes you ask "wait, what?", is the Pokédex in Pokémon Sword. Its authoritative tone is what really makes it stand out.

They don't say "people believe this will happen," but "this is bound to happen."

Whenever Beheeyem visits the farm, Dubwool mysteriously disappears.

1.Bronzong breaks down Pokémon lore

Pokémon Platinum

Bronzong breaks down Pokémon lore

With over 1,000 Pokémon, many of which have multiple Pokédex entries, it's possible that bits of worldbuilding information have been incorporated into the Pokédex. But sometimes, the amount of information is so overwhelming that it needs to be studied carefully,

such as the bronze bell that appears in Platinum, which indicates that it periodically opens portals. Being able to open portals to other worlds is of great significance to Pokémon, and the ultimate goal in Sun and Moon is to open a portal to the Ultra Space.

It opens the door to another world, brings rain, and is revered as a bringer of harvest.
