Pokemon Fans Are Already Putting Together Their Legends Z-A Teams

Some Pokemon Legends: Z-A fans are already planning their teams months before the game's release and sharing them with the community. The anticipation for Pokemon Legends: Z-A continues to build up as rumors tease the addition of several new Mega Evolutions.

Since it was announced in February 2024, Pokemon Legends: Z-A has become one of the most anticipated releases of 2025. Earlier in May, The Pokemon Company confirmed that Pokemon Legends: Z-A is coming on October 16. The developers also revealed that pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 editions will open on June 5 in the US and June 11 in the EU. The game is still quite a few months away, but fans who have already decided upon getting it have their Pokemon lineup all planned out.

Over on the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Reddit forum, fans have begun to share their desired teams, including which starter they would pick and which monsters they hope will be featured. User Gaming_Lot revealed they would include Emboar, Tepig's evolution, as well as Aggron, should it appear in the Pokedex. If Zygarde is available early in the game, they would also like to catch it. Another fan, DominicDGibson, said they want a team with Meganium, Blastoise, and Hawlucha. They stated this is their ideal team if the leaks about Pokemon Legends: Z-A's new Mega Evolutions turn out to be true. Earlier reports suggested that there would be Mega forms for Emboar, Meganium, Feraligatr, Hawlucha, Dragonite, Pyroar, and more.the

Other fans have also built their teams based on the speculated Mega Evolutions, like Delpika, who wishes to have Delphox in their lineup. User TheIngloriousBIG also based their team on previous leaks, though they included many Pokemon that already got Mega Evolutions in previous installments. Some of them have been confirmed to return through Pokemon Legends: Z-A official promotional images, such as Mega Lucario and Mega Charizard X. On the other hand, there are fans like GeologistSea4107 who are planning to have fewer Megas and instead go for their favorite monkey Pokemon like Simisage and Simisear.

For many veteran Pokemon fans who are well-versed in team composition, planning a team months before a game's release can be quite useful. The Pokemon Company has revealed some details about Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but much is still left to speculation. Fortunately for fans, a new Pokemon Presents event is scheduled for July 22, where the developers will likely unveil more gameplay aspects, characters, and potentially Mega Evolutions.
